Data without clarity
The data exists. Nobody can see usable financial truth quickly enough to act on it.
Who I serve
I work with established businesses that have outgrown what their financial systems can tell them — where the reporting still looks fine, but the owner can no longer answer, with precision, why the number is what it is.
Revenue isn't the qualifier. The gap between what you're running and what your numbers can actually explain is.
The fit
None of these is about size. All four are about the distance between how complex the business has become and how much of it the reporting can still explain.
01
There is enough complexity that standard accounting outputs no longer answer the question being asked of them.
02
The data exists. Nobody can see usable financial truth quickly enough to act on it.
03
Critical moves get delayed, or made on instinct, because the decision infrastructure underneath them is weak.
04
Disciplined growth is preferred over reactive growth, and there is a willingness to change how things are run.
Common situations
Not a fit if you are
Looking for bookkeeping only.
Not looking to engage with financial decision-making yourself.
Unwilling to change systems or operating habits.
Questions
Established businesses that have outgrown their reporting. The signal is not a revenue figure — it is complexity: no clear assurance level on the statements, financials nobody in the business can read past the summary line, an accounting setup that hasn't kept pace with what the business became, and decisions that now involve people beyond the owner. If two or three of those are true, this is the right conversation.
No. I operate above the bookkeeping and compliance layer and work alongside whoever is already there. Your accountant keeps doing what they do; I build the intelligence layer on top of it.
Professional services, construction, healthcare, real estate, retail and hospitality — and industry is not a qualifier. The method is industry-agnostic because it starts from your own general ledger rather than from a benchmark.
MFIntel works with clients wherever they are based. The work is built around your financial systems and your data, not around proximity — the Diagnostic and everything that follows are conducted remotely. In-person sessions can be arranged when they would add something a remote session would not.
The Diagnostic is a paid working session — operational advisory work rather than a sales consultation. It assesses your current financial position, identifies where reporting is breaking down, and determines where the impact is greatest. You get direction from it whether or not anything continues afterward.
Engagements are scoped based on business size and complexity. The Diagnostic is paid, fixed scope and fixed fee, and it determines the right engagement structure from there. There is no hourly billing.
